Oh my gosh – when I came across this list of the Top 20 Self-sabotaging Behaviors I had to get real with myself and take a serious inventory of how my actions (or lack of action) could be signs of self-sabotage. Who knew there were so many ways to “shoot yourself in the foot”!!
I would love to say that I’m above these behaviors or that I’ve cleared all of my garbage about money and success and change – but alas, I’m still working on it. ![]()
See how many of these behaviors you’ve experienced in the last 30 days –
Procrastinated
Overindulged in eating, drinking, or spending
Acted impulsively and didn’t consider the consequences
Got distracted or lost focus
Skipped exercising

Took on too many things
Ignored or minimized problems in relationships, job, or health
Held unrealistic expectations
Was too critical or judgmental of myself or others
Needed help but didn’t ask for it

So many of us came from families where money was a struggle. The money always ran out before the bills did. We gathered those beliefs and now are playing them out in our own lives. It’s time to move past that! Time to start believing that money comes easily. Let’s get tapping!
Karate Chop:
Even though I’ll never have enough money I love and forgive myself anyway.
Even though money goes out faster then it comes in I love and accept myself anyway.
Even though money is a struggle I love and accept myself anyway.
Eyebrow: It’s so hard to keep money.
Side of Eye: I can’t let my guard down.
Under Eye: Money can disappear at any moment.
Under Nose: I just am getting ahead and then poof something happens.
Chin Point: All these money worries.
Before tapping the positive round make sure your emotional intensity level is a 4 or lower on a scale of 1-10.
Under Arm: I’ll never have enough money.
Top of Head: I’ll always struggle.
Positive Round:
Eyebrow: I love to relax about money.
Side of Eye: Money flows in easily and effortlessly.
Under Eye: Money is fun and I have more then enough.
Under Nose: I appreciate the money I have.
Chin Point: I am safe and I have plenty.
Under Arm: It is safe to be calm with money.
Top of Head: I am well taken care of.
Keep on tapping!

When we look at our rules for living often we find old “tribal” or “family” rules that we are still following whether they work for us or not. A common belief for many families goes something like this…”People like us don’t get rich we just have enough money to get by.” When we choose to grow past that belief and earn more money then often we subconsciously begin to sabotage our success so that we stay loyal to our family belief. Here’s a tapping script to help you look at your family beliefs and begin to release them.
Karate Chop: Even though I believe that I can only make enough money to get by I love and accept myself anyway.
Even though I don’t feel comfortable making a lot of money I love and accept myself anyway.
Even though my family might not approve if I make a lot more money then them I love and accept myself anyway.
Eyebrow: I just need enough to get by.
Side of Eye: It’s selfish to need more then that.
Under the Eye: My family works hard and just has enough to get by.
Under the Nose: My family will feel uncomfortable if I make too much money.
Chin Point: It’s not okay to make lots of money.
Collar Bone: It might not even be moral to make more money then I need.
Under the Arm: They’ll get jealous if I make too much.
Top of Head: My family just get by.
Remember to tap on the negative round until your negative emotion is down to at least a 4 on a scale of 1-10. As always please take full responsibility for your mental health.
Positive Round
Eyebrow: I choose to be free to make an abundance of money.
Side of Eye: I love the feeling of money just pouring in.
Under the Eye: Maybe it is just fine to make money without a lot of hard work.
Under the Nose: I want it to be okay.
Chin Point: I can be a trailblazer of change for my family to free them to make as much money as they wish.
Collar Bone: I welcome money.
Under Arm: I am safe.
Top of Head: I am open and ready to accept all the abundance that comes my way.
Keep on Tapping!
